Disassembly and cleaning of sheet metal guarding, doors, and coolant tank;
To improve machine accuracy, the carriage turcite (anti-friction liner) was redone. This extraordinary maintenance operation involves replacing the worn anti-friction material on the sliding guideways;
Gib strip repair and new turcite application;
Replacement of the PC and Style software with newer models compatible with this lathe type;
The new PC was prepared directly by Style's central customer service in the Netherlands and tested for an entire weekend;
Replacement of the monitor with a new 19" touchscreen model;
Inspection of the input/output boards;
Replacement of fuses and cables connecting to the control board on the PC;
Complete replacement of the cables from the electrical panel to components such as axis motors, lubrication pump, coolant pump, monitor, and the on-machine PC keyboard;
Cleaning and inspection of the cable/hose drag chains, with replacement of any broken parts;
Replacement of work area lighting with brighter LED lights;
Tool turret: overhaul and replacement of connection cables to the electrical panel and coolant lines;
Overhaul of the X-axis and Z-axis screws, with replacement of all bearings and drive belts;
Overhaul of the lubrication circuits, with replacement of tubes and oil dosers for both the X and Z axes;
Replacement of oil seals on the carriage and tailstock;
Replacement of the shatterproof safety glass on the door that closes and provides visibility into the lathe's work area;
Oil change in the headstock gearbox and lubrication oil change for the guideways;
Inspection of axis movement and adjustment of drive belts;
Realignment of the tool turret;
Cutting tests carried out with parts ordered by one of our toolmaker customers.
